WEYMOUTH and DORSET
Discover the beautiful countryside and the quintessential rural charm of Dorset's historic towns, streets and houses. We visit Gold Hill in Shaftesbury and also make a trip to neighbouring Devon and the City of Exeter.
We depart via the motorway network to National Memorial Arboretum for lunch making a comfort stop en route. We have time to look around before we continue South making further comfort stops before arriving at our
hotel located the seafront in Weymouth where for Dinner is served.
We firstly head to Lyme Regis described as the 'Pearl of Dorset' we discover the Cobb and Harbour. We then continue onwards to Exeter capital City of Devon where we have time to explore. Perhaps visit the Cathedral or Museums. We return to our hotel for Dinner.
We head along the coast to Bournemouth where we spend time at leisure later we return to Weymouth for a chance to look around our host town. Dinner in the hotel.
We visit Sherborne one of England's most beautiful medieval towns with its host of buildings, Abbey, Almshouses and two Castles. After lunch we travel to ancient hill top town of Shaftesbury home to the famous
cobbled street of Gold Hill which featured in the Hovis Advertisements. There are stunning views over the countryside made famous by the author Thomas Hardy. We return to our hotel for Dinner
We begin our journey home and call into the Regency town of Cheltenham for lunch. After time to explore we continue our journey home making comfort stops en route arriving home early evening.
The Russell Hotel enjoys a seafront location in Weymouth and was refurbished in late 2017. there are 87 en suite bedrooms offering a good standard of accommodation.
