WEST COUNTRY RAIL AND SAIL
A tour which takes in the colourful countryside of North Devon and Somerset together with coastal resorts. We experience a horse drawn barge journey and a ride on the West Somerset Railway.
We leave Cumbria and head South making a Coffee stop and lunch stops en route to our hotel in Tiverton where Dinner is served tonight.
The morning free to discover Tiverton before we take a gentle cruise along the Grand Western Canal by horse drawn barge. We experience the peace and tranquillity of the journey while we have tea and scones served to us. We return to the hotel through the local countryside and quaint villages. Dinner in the hotel.
We join the West Somerset Railway at Bishops Lydeyard for a journey on the longest Steam Railway in the country through the Quantock Hills to Minehead one of England's best seaside towns. We have time to explore
before our coach journey back across Exmoor to the hotel for Dinner.
A full day on the road as we head across the County of Devon to the southern coast and visit the towns of Seaton and Sidmouth making short stops before we spend the afternoon in the City of Exeter with its fine
Cathedral, High Street and interesting shops. We return to the hotel for Dinner
We begin our journey home making comfort and lunch stops en route before arriving back in Cumbria early evening
