Llangollen River and Rail

A fascinating holiday to North Wales based around the popular town of Llangollen with an included visit to a Castle, a canal boat cruise over an aqueduct and a Railway journey. This coupled with the magnificent scenery on offer makes this an extra special tour.
We leave Cumbria in the morning and head South for a stop at Barton Grange for Coffee with time to look around. Our journey continues to Chester for lunch and with the afternoon to explore this famous Roman City. We make the short journey to our hotel where Dinner is served this evening.
Following breakfast we begin our exploration of this lovely area with a journey over the Horse Shoe Pass and into Llangollen where we firstly head to our Canal wharf where we join our Canal boat over the Froncysylite Aqueduct and into Llangollen. We are met here by our driver and we walk into the Town for lunch. In the afternoon we board the Steam train for a journey up the valley to Corwen our Coach will met us here returning us to our hotel in time for Dinner.
Today after breakfast we journey to Shrewsbury where we have free time to explore the ancient alleyways. After lunch we head back towards Wrexham for an included visit to Chirk Castle and Gardens. The 700 year old fortress has many Royal links, the gardens are splendid and there is a lovely Tea room. Dinner is served in the hotel tonight.
After breakfast today is all about rest and relaxation. We venture along the North wales coast to Llandudno where there will be free time to take in the Promenade, Shop, take boat ride around the Great Orme or take the tram to the top. The more energetic may wish to walk up. In afternoon we begin our journey back hugging the coast through some well known places before stopping off for a cup of tea. We return to the hotel for Dinner.
Following our farewell breakfast we begin our journey home taking in the fascinating Anderton Boat Lift, here we have a coffee stop. Our journey continues to the Imperial War Museum North where entry is included. There is the opportunity to walk across to Salford Quays and the Lowry Centre which also now hosts most of the UK Media Centres. Coronation Street Studios is next door for those who might need a fix. We return home late afternoon.
