IRELAND – ALL GATHERED UP (Drinks included)
A chance to visit some the best known locations in the Central belt of Ireland. We are based in Roscrea allowing us to make the most of the location in the centre of Ireland and offer visits in all directions. We will see Medieval Towns and Cities, Castles, visit famous seaside destinations and pretty villages. There is something for everyone here and not forgetting the Drinks included offer.
An early departure leaving Cumbria and travelling south then along the North Wales coast to Holyhead for our Stena Line afternoon sailing to Dublin. We then travel across Ireland to the central region arriving at our hotel mid evening where a late Dinner is served. Comfort and coffee stops en route.
We spend the day crossing the varied countryside landscapes of central Ireland firstly we head North to the medieval walled town of Athlone where we have some free time to explore the town and Castle, we continue our journey this time heading West to Galway the City on the Atlantic Ocean with its famous cathedral and well known welcome. Here we have time to explore before returning to our hotel for Dinner.
This morning we travel to Kilkenny a medieval town where the Castle was built in 1195 AD and many shops occupy the winding lanes of the town. We travel onto Waterford for lunch and the afternoon free to explore
this exciting City which was founded by the Vikings in 914 AD maybe make time to visit the famous Waterford crystal Centre before returning to our hotel for Dinner.
Today we head South West calling firstly at charming village of Adare regarded as one of Irelands prettiest villages where many house still have thatched roofs, we have to explore and have a coffee. We next
travel to the City Limerick on the River Shannon where we have time to visit St Johns Square where Georgian town houses surround the centre and visit the 13th century King John's Castle and
explore the many features of this famous city. We return to our hotel for Dinner.
We make an early start for our journey back calling into Dublin for some free time before we board our Stena Line Ferry for the 14.50 sailing back to Holyhead we then continue our journey on to Cumbria making comfort stops en route arriving home late evening.
