Let Battle Commence – Field of Cloth of Gold

The nations interest in all things Royal has grown over recent years and here we have a chance to look deeper into the life of the different members and eras of the Royal family. On this magical tour we visit Hampton Court former Palace of Henry VIII and some 500 years ago Henry met Francis I at an astonishing European festival. We also come right up to date with a visit to Windsor.

Our itinerary

Day One

We leave Cumbria and head South making a Coffee stop en route to Warwick where we have enough time for lunch and a look around before we head to our hotel. Dinner is served in the hotel tonight.

Day Two
A full day visit to Hampton Court where as well as entry to the Palace we can take in the spectacle of The Field of Cloth of Gold which is taking place for 9 days at the end of May 2020. See the rematch of the festival from 500 years ago where thousands of courtiers took part in tournaments, masquerades and religious services. We witness encampments see the armourers food and crafts from the era and take in the jousts, a full day back in time. We return to the hotel for Dinner.

Day Three
We travel to nearby Windsor where we have time to explore the town or maybe take a boat ride. Walk up to Castle, stroll through the Great Park or have lunch along the High Street. Early in the afternoon we depart for home making comfort stops en route arriving back in Cumbria early evening.
