We leave Cumbria travelling North stopping off in Dumfries for the morning before continuing to lunch in Moffatt. We then have a short visit to Biggar before we arrive at our hotel late afternoon. Dinner in the hotel
We travel North through rolling countryside to visit Rosslyn Chapel a 15th century compelling and unique building surviving from the turbulent times of the Reformation. The building was used in The Da Vinci Code film and the subject of many Myths and Legends including the Holy Grail. We spend lunch and the afternoon in Scotland's Capital City of Edinburgh where you will have ample time to explore all that this famous city has to offer. In late afternoon we return to the hotel for Dinner.
Today we have a drive through the Trossachs where we by pass Stirling for short stops in Callander, Aberfoyle and Drymen. We drive along the Southern Shore of Loch Lomond to the visitor centre at Lomond Shores
where we have some free time and you can take in views of the Loch. We return to our hotel via Glasgow, Dinner in the hotel tonight.
We take in sea air today with a stop in Ayr before we visit Dumfries House one of Britain's most beautiful Stately Homes with its heritage secrets, sumptuous interiors, magnificent furnishings and all set in some 2,00 acres of grounds. The house has remained unchanged for some 250 years and we have exclusive access to a private room where we have tea/ coffee and shortbread before we undertake a guided tour of the
house. We return to the hotel where Dinner is served tonight
We travel home to Cumbria through the Scottish Borders making coffee stop en route before calling into Hawick for lunch continuing via Langholm we arrive home late afternoon.
