ENGLANDS MIGHTY CASTLES AND THE BLUEBELL STEAM RAILWAY
A classic tour featuring Stately Homes, Castles and a varied daily programme. We visit a 700 year old romantic Royal Castle with views over the South Downs a fairy tale styled French chateau and take a steam train ride through the Sussex countryside.
We leave Cumbria early morning and head South via the motorway network making coffee, comfort stops before we have free time and a late lunch in Stratford Upon Avon we continue our journey to our hotel arriving late afternoon with time to freshen up for Dinner.
Today we head into West Sussex and a visit to Arundel Castle which dates back to Norman times. With many fascinating tapestries, antique furniture and rare paintings there is a lot to take in during the visit including the extensive gardens. We continue our journey with a visit to Chichester returning to our hotel for Dinner.
In the morning we travel to Oxford the city of dreaming spires and the site for many TV locations. In the afternoon we visit Waddesdon Manor with its fine furnishings and fine art collection together with an
ornate Victorian garden of flamboyant colours and ornate fountains and statues. Dinner in the hotel tonight.
This morning we board the Bluebell Line Steam Train for a 40 minute journey when our coach will take us on to Hever Castle former home of Ann Boleyn. The castle ids full of treasures and is surrounded by 125
acres of pleasant gardens and grounds. We return to our hotel for Dinner.
We begin our journey home to Cumbria making coffee, comfort stops before a lunch stop in Lichfield we make a further comfort stop before arriving home early evening.
