EASTBOURNE AND 1066 COUNTRY
Nicknamed the 'Suntrap of the South', Eastbourne is literally a place bursting with things to do and with its Victorian Pier, Flat Promenade and Exquisite Gardens and Seafront there is plenty to keep you busy.
With a visit to Beachy Head and excursions along the South Downs we offer a variety of locations on this tour.
We leave Cumbria and head South making a Coffee stop en route to our lunch stop at Newark. Our journey continues and we arrive at our hotel in time to freshen up for Dinner.
A full day tour as we travel through rolling countryside calling first at Battle where you can visit the Abbey and the Site of the 1066 Battle of Hastings. In the afternoon we visit the town of Rye on Romney Marsh which has changed little over the years and is steeped in Maritime History, Dinner in the hotel tonight.

Crossing the South Downs we stop at Beachy Head to take in the panoramic views of The Seven Sisters and a stop at Birling Gap a former collection of fishing cottages and also a well known smuggling point. We then travel onto Brighton with its Victorian Pier, Beach front and Royal Pavilion where we spend the remainder of the day at
leisure before returning to our hotel in time for Dinner. .
Today we begin our journey back to Cumbria with a Coffee and lunch stops en route arriving back early evening.
The Best Western York House Hotel is situated on the Promenade and close to The Pier. The hotel has lifts to all floors 78 en suite bedrooms and an Indoor Swimming Pool, the hotel features comfortable lounge and public areas and is an ideal location for that late stroll along the seafront.
