CREAM OF THE COTSWOLDS
A tour exuding and English prettiness like no other as we journey through the rolling honey suckled beauty of the Cotswolds. Contrasting days out as we discover villages, birthplaces, steam and castle.
We head south calling at Salmesbury Hall for coffee before we visit the National Arboretum for lunch with time to look around. Our journey continues to Gloucester and our hotel where Dinner is served
Enjoy a trip to many of the famous villages of the Cotswolds as we visit Moreton on the Marsh where each Tuesday a local market is held. Stow on the Wold where a skirmish during the English Civil War took place
in 1646. Bourton on the Water the highest village in the Cotswolds and also Broadway set among the meadows and orchards of the Vale of Evesham. Back to our hotel for Dinner
A visit to Stratford on Avon birthplace and former home of William Shakespeare where you have time explore the town. After lunch we return to Gloucester. For some free time before making our way back to our
hotel for Dinner.
Into Cheltenham the Regency Town with time to explore before we take a ride on a Steam Railway ad then to Sudeley Castle and Gardens for an included visit where the grounds extend to 1200 acres and the 15th Century church has the entombed remains of Katherine Parr the last of Henry V111 six wives. The castle has many features and treasures to share. We return to our hotel for Dinner
Our return journey sees us stop at a Garden Centre for coffee with ton explore before we stop for lunch en route to home arriving back in Cumbria late afternoon
The Best Western Hotel Gloucester is a modern quality hotel with leisure facilities located just outside the town. It offers us a good base for our tour.
