Based some 40 miles North of Inverness this tour gives a new look and feel to the area. You will find each day has a different experience. With steam trains, boats, castles and coastal roads there is a lot to see on this tour.
An early morning departure from Cumbria sees us take a coffee stop en route before we lunch in the Stirling area. A further stop at the House of Bruar as we continue North alongside the Cairngorms. We pass Inverness to arrive at our hotel late afternoon where Dinner is served.
We take the short journey to Inverness for some free time before we have an included boat trip on Loch Ness from Clansman Harbour. We then visit Urquhart Castle Visitor Centre and Grounds before returning to Dornoch via Beauly and Muir of Ord. Dinner in the hotel.
Prepare for one of the most famous rail journeys in the country as we board the Kyle Line train in inverness for the journey to Kyle of Lochalsh. Our coach will meet the train at Kyle station before we cross the Skye bridge and onto Broadford where we have a light lunch included. We return over the bridge to make the opposite journey to the train as we call first at Eilean Donan the castle of fables. Then follows a journey of highland splendour through towering mountains travelling via Loch Carron and Achnasheen . Dinner is served tonight.
Today it is northwards as you venture by train along the north sea coastline passing Dunrobin Castle and the beautiful beaches at Brora. On arriving in Thurso the coach will be waiting to take you for an included visit to the Castle of Mey once the Queen Mothers former home. We have a short journey to John O'Groats the northern most inhabited part of Britain. We retrun south to Dornoch via the fishing port of Wick. Dinner is served in the hotel
We begin our journey homewards stopping for coffee in Aviemore before we continue South to a lunch stop near Stirling. A further stop en route before we arrive home late afternoon.
