A Tayste of Scotland


A newly designed tour packed with culinary experiences whilst enjoying the beautiful landscapes of Scotland. This package will be sure to tickle the taste buds with whisky, gin and chocolate together with an afternoon tea. Come and experience Scotland's culinary delights.

Our itinerary

Day One
We leave Cumbria early morning and stop at Moffatt for coffee before we venture onto Baxter Visitor Centre for free time to look around and have lunch. Our journey continues via Perth with a short stoop before arriving at our hotel in Dundee where Dinner is served.

Day Two
We are on the trail of the famous Arbroath Smokie as a coastal drive takes us past the Golf Town of Carnoustie to the seaside town of Arbroath where we visit the Signal Tower Museum and we have to explore and take lunch. We return to spend some free time in Dundee before we have an included Afternoon Tea at the Indigo converted from a former Jute Mill. We return to our hotel for Dinner.

Day Three
Today we go to St Andrew's where the film Chariots of Fire was filmed on the Beach along the Bay comes into view. We firstly call at the Kingsbarns Distillery for some of Scotland's amber nectar. After our tour and tasting we have free time in St Andrew's to discover the Golf and University town. We include a Fish and Chip Dinner today . We return via the Tay Bridge and to our hotel.

Day Four
We follow the River Tay to Glamis not only the home of the famous Castle but also of a Gin Bothy where we sample the wears and hear the story of its quirky building. Afterwards we travel to Pitlochry for free time before we head to The Highland Chocolatier where Iain Burnett's chocolates are hailed by Michelin star chefs worldwide. We return to our hotel for Dinner.

Day Five
We make our journey home firstly calling at Stirling for lunch and with timeto look around before making a further comfort stop en route back arriving home late afternoon.

The Best Western Invercarse Hotel has a river side location with stunning views across the River Tay from its Public rooms. Set in its own grounds the hotel offers an ideal base with its modernised rooms and extension completed in 2018.
