Watch the dramatic scenery of the Highland landscape glide past as you experience our Railways of Scotland tour. We are ideally placed in Newtonmore to take advantage of this blend of 3 railway journeys each one a wonder in its own right and each with a different tale to tell. Our featured lines are The Spey Valley line, the West Highland Line and The Kyle Line and these coupled with a Wildlife Cruise and visits to well known destinations makes this trip a must. We also have the benefit of seeing the highlands in their autumn colours.
A morning departure from Cumbria sees us stop at Moffat for Coffee before we continue North deeper into Scotland arriving at our lunch stop in Stirling where we some free time. We continue past Perth and over the Drummochter Pass before reaching our hotel in the village of Newtonmore. Complimentary tea/Coffee and shortbread are offered on arrival before we have Dinner in the hotel.
After a hearty Scottish breakfast we head North to Inverness and join our train for the journey on The Kyle Line said by Michael Palin 'to be one of the most beautiful rail journeys in Europe'. Your coach will meet you at the station at the Kyle of Lochalsh before taking you over the Skye Bridge and onto the Isle of Skye for a short visit. We travel back amongst splendid Highland Scenery and along the shores of Loch Ness before returning to our hotel for Dinner.
Following breakfast we make the short journey to Aviemore where we have some free time before boarding the Spey Valley line to Broomhill. The station here was used in the TV series Monarch of the Glen. The coach will be waiting for you at the station and we continue on to Grantown on Spey with some free time. As we begin our return journey we stop at the popular Speyside Heather Centre with a chance to look around and possibly shop. We return to our hotel for Dinner.

While in Mallaig we have an included 1 hour cruise sailing out towards the Isles in search of whales, dolphins and sea eagles, Seals can often be spotted in the harbour in Mallaig. On the return journey you have the best of both worlds as you experience the Road to Isles, we have superb views of Rum and Eigg and Muck as we travel along. We stop at the Glenfinnan Viaduct which you passed over earlier in the day. here we get a different view of the Viaduct and chance to walk to Bonnie prince Charlie's Monumnet. We stop at Neptunes Staircase a flight of lochs which link the North end of Loch Linnhe with the Caledonian Canal. We continue to the Cammando Memorial for what on a fine day are superb views on Ben Nevis and Anoch Mor as the tower above Fort William. We return to our hotel via Loch Laggan with Dinner served tonight.
