Richard III and The War of the Roses

Immerse yourself in History as we chart the rise and fall of this King of England who has risen to greater fame over the last few years. The amazing story of the body in the Car Park focused the World's attention onto Richard. We visit many locations associated with this Royal including Bosworth Battlefield and Leicester Cathedral and Guildhall. We also take in a visit to Tamworth Castle and a visit to the National Brewery Museum.
A morning departure from Cumbria sees us journey South to Barton Grange for a coffee stop before we continue to the Stafford shire area for lunch. Our journey resumes and we arrive at our hotel The Best Western Appleby Park Hotel. Dinner is served in the hotel tonight.
After breakfast we head to the National Arboretum for a visit where you will have time to look around and have Coffee before we head to Tamworth for Lunch and then an included visit to the Castle where we will have complimentary Tea and Cake in the afternoon. We return to our hotel for Dinner
Following breakfast we firstly make for Bosworth Field and the heritage visitor centre. We have time to take in the history of the site. Following this we take an included Steam train ride on the Bosworth Railway. Late morning we transfer to Leicester where you will have time for lunch before visiting Leicester Cathedral where the tomb of King Richard III lies and Leicester Guildhall for the Richard III exhibition. We return to our hotel where Dinner is served
When breakfast is complete we make the journey to Ashbourne on the edge of the Peak District where are able to explore the lovely Market town and have lunch. In the afternoon we make for the National Brewery Museum at Burton on Trent where we experience the art of making a good brew we have a little time here to browse. We end the afternoon with some free time in Burton before Dinner is served in our hotel.
After breakfast we begin our journey home with a stop in Lichfield for coffee and time to look around this Market Town, We continue our journey North with a stop for lunch and further comfort sops before arriving back in Cumbria late afternoon.
