The natural of the Scottish border region belies a very turbulent past which we will be able to explore on this tour. We are based in the Clyde Valley offering us an ideal base from which to explore the region. We journey firstly to Dumfries where we have time to explore the Town . Our journey continues along the A76 towards Thornhill and then onto the A702 to Elvanfoot. We have a scenic drive back to our hotel where dinner is served.

We then venture on to Abbotsford House the former home of Sir Walter Scott which has a treasure of intriguing artefacts and beautiful formal gardens on the banks of the River Tweed. Our return journey takes us through the pretty market town of Peebles. Dinner is served in the hotel tonight.
After breakfast we have a Full Day excursion northwards as we pass into the glorious Trossachs, we pass Stirling before stopping off in Callandar .
