Captivating Cardiff and South Wales

A tour to South Wales taking its Capital Cardiff and the surrounding countryside and history which makes the area famous. We spend in Cardiff and at the developing Cardiff Bay. We visit mines and journey on the heads of the valleys road. A river cruise and visits to Market Towns help enrich the experience.
We travel South early morning making comfort stops en route to our lunch destination in Lichfield a lovely City with its Cathedral and Market Place. Our journey continues through Eastern Wales arriving at our hotel late afternoon where Tea/Coffee and Biscuits are served. Dinner in the hotel tonight.
Following breakfast we journey to Cardiff Bay where the new development around the harbour is taking shape. This is also the seat of the Welsh Parliament. We then head into Cardiff where the rest of the day is free to explore the Welsh Capital. We return to our hotel for Dinner.
After breakfast we head through Pontypool and high up into the valleys to the Big Pit. This mining heritage site has much to offer. Afterwards we journey along the heads of valley road to Abergavenny where we have time for lunch and to look around the quaint town. We continue along the heads of the valley road on our way back to our hotel. Dinner is again served in the hotel tonight.
After breakfast we head to the county town of Monmouth a charming place full of history and interest. our journey continues to Symonds Yat for an included cruise on the River Wye. We then head along the Wye Valley passing Tintern Abbey on our way to our final stop in Chepstow. We return to our hotel where Dinner is served.
Following our farewell breakfast we begin our journey home taking in the beautiful Welsh countryside before passing into England and stopping in Hereford where we have some free time. We continue North with a stop in Ludlow for lunch. Onwards again with comfort stops before we arrive back in Cumbria late afternoon.
